Himalaya Water Service Tatha Vikas Avam Paryavaran Sanrakshan Samiti (HIMWATS) is an NGO founded in November 1997 in the Champawat District of Uttarakhand, under the guidance of Dr. H. D. Bist (a renown Scientist with numerous global accolades and retired Professor of Physics, IIT Kanpur). The organisation has been working towards the development of Uttarakhand in the fields of quality education, social empowerment, inclusive development, environmental conservation, health care, etc. Following is a brief overview of some of the programs we are supporting. 1) Vocation Training : Courses of Basic Computer Skills for college students 2) Girls Internship - The internship designed especially for girl students who are attending college to train them on basic science concept models and experiments 2) Community Book Reading Camps : Regular book reading camps are organized in the different villages of Uttarakhand for all to come, read quality books and engage in discourse 3) Digital Learning: For Children: learning through different technological modes such as laptops, tablets, and projectors and latest gadgets For Adults/Youth: learning about digital transitions and working of the digital technologies in day to day lives, teaching youth /adults about the basic computer skills such as mailing, word, excel, etc.
