Hitchman is an office carpool management app. Hitchman allows you to find professionals who live near you and work in the same area for carpooling. Riders and car owners only add home location, office location and carpool preferences in app and then browse through profiles to find matches. You choose who you do carpool with a minimum commitment of 1 trip. Hitchman is not a taxi or pick & drop service and is only meant to help you save on fuel costs while sharing only two trips a day i.e. from home to office & from office to home
If you are a car owner who needs the car during office hours, then you should creat a carpool on hitchman and browse through Riders profiles to find someone who lives and works on your route. You can also get requests from potential riders to join
If you are a car owner who doesn't need the car during office hours, then you should register as a rider on hitchman and browse through carpools to find a match. You can also get invited from car owners to join their carpool
The app only focuses on morning and evening office travel and aims to reduce the number of cars on the road. Another big benefit of hitchman is to save the environment by reducing emissions from cars.
Currently, car owners spend around Rs.14/km during office commute which includes average fuel mileage of 10km/litre and estimated service & maintenance costs. Service & maintenance costs include oil changes, depreciation, road tax, servicing, cleaning, and other spare parts etc.
With hitchman, car owners can save from 50% to 100% while riders can save from 40% to 60% on their office travel costs.
