HIVE Educators

HIVE is an independent ‘think and action-tank’ for teachers. Acronym for ‘highly intellectual and valiant enthusiasts’, HIVE believes that an empowered teacher leads to an empowered classroom. HIVE is designed to ensure agency and autonomy of the teacher are centered in the learning environment. Operating at the praxis of education, HIVE is a team of teachers and researchers who believe teachers are the heart of education. Over recent years, trust in teachers around the world has gradually eroded due to the ever-increasing nature of surveillance and accountability mechanisms. The erosion of trust further disengages and disempowers teachers to carry out their profession. Subsequently, this further distances teachers from having a voice in the complex education ecosystem. Understanding this, at the core of HIVE’s vision is teacher professional development. HIVE articulates this vision through various strategies and mechanisms.
