HL7 Austria ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein zur Verbesserung der elektronischen Datenkommunikation und Interoperabilität im Gesundheitswesen mithilfe der internationalen Standards von Health Level Seven® (HL7®). Seit 2007 koordiniert der Verein als offizielle nationale Vertretung (Affiliate) von HL7 International die Interessen der österreichischen HL7-Anwender und hält Kontakte zu internationalen HL7-Partnerorganisationen, sowie zu anderen nationalen Standardisierungsorganisationen (Österreichisches Interoperabilitätsforum). HL7 Austria passt die HL7-Standards an die Gegebenheiten des österreichischen Gesundheitswesens an und definiert nationale Standards wie CDA®-Implementierungsleitfäden. HL7 Austria fördert die Verwendung von HL7 durch Veranstaltungen, Schulungen, Zertifizierungen, e-Learning und die Bereitstellung der Standards.
