On 19th February, 1971 Hanif Merchant landed in Dubai and soon after partnered up to create a neon signage company. After a few years of success, he decided to branch out and on the 1st January, 1976 Emirates Neon was founded with only 4 employees. In the beginning, the company focused primarily on shop signs but later progressed into fuel station branding during the 1980s with EGPC (now Emarat), Caltex-EPPCO (ENOC now) and Adnoc, over a period of 2 years, Emirates Neon had implemented 200 fuel stations.
Under the banner of HM INTERNATIONAL he introduced innovative & creative ideas transforming conventional signage industry in to a digital visual communication. Now a market leader in the planning and implementation of indoor and outdoor visual communications, ENG an HMI sister concern offers an enormous array of products and services across a steadily evolving variety of business divisions.
