Hobbyco has a long history in Australia, being established in 1935, and provides unique toys, models, games and more, to entertain and excite its customers. Hobbyco is no ordinary toy & hobby store. With an ever-changing list of products, it offers a wide range of choice for everyone; whether it is plastic kits for the hobbyists, jigsaw puzzles for the family, or LEGO, the breadth of range is considerable. There are also traditional products that will bring you the nostalgia of the past such as Flying Scotsman train sets and real Wilesco steam engines or the latest items that will keep you entertained for hours. Back in 1935, when Robert Lowe established a toy and hobby shop named K-Dee after his wife Kathleen Dee, he couldn’t have known that it will come to be the national icon it is today. What started as a small store had already become a tourist attraction by the 1940s, when no visit to the city, whether by tram, rail or bus, was complete without a visit to Hobbyco. Today, Hobbyco is Australia’s largest family owned hobby retailer, with more than 40,000 products that hobbyists or toy lovers of all ages dream of. The flagship shop is located in the historic Queen Victoria Building Shopping Centre with over 650 square metres of retail space on two floors. Hobbyco also has three other stores, in Burwood, Rhodes and Chatswood, and a fourth opening soon. During its 85 years history, Hobbyco always sought to keep up with the latest novelties in the industry. From plastic construction kits to control line planes, from transistors to Radio Control Car Kits, Hobbyco was there at every milestone, working hard to bring exciting products to its range, opening new paths and creating new passions for their customers.
