Hobsons Bay Clinic

Hobsons Bay Clinic is the private practice of psychiatrist Ben Chia. Ben is a general psychiatrist who treats a wide range of mental health problems. While Ben does use medication when it is indicated, his focus is on talking about the complexities of mental health difficulties and coming to a shared treatment plan. In order to achieve this Ben only books 60 minute appointments for patients initially, which often continues for this duration or at a minimum 30 minute sessions. This is in contrast to the trend for psychiatrists to see patients for 10-15 minutes after the initial assessment. Ben is currently looking for a like-minded psychiatrist to join him to support the under-resourced Western suburbs of Melbourne.
