HWL is de organisatie die gericht is op behoud, bescherming, beheer en ontwikkeling van natuur en landschap in de Hoeksche Waard. HWL is een regionale maatschappelijke onderneming zonder winstoogmerk.
Het is ook een vrijwilligersorganisatie. De circa 400 vrijwilligers zijn georganiseerd in een 40-tal werkgroepen.
