HOLMESIDE SCHOOL

Holmeside is a day and boarding special needs school for pupils/students with specific learning difficulties such as Austism Spectrum Disorder, Dyslexia, Asperger's Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other Developmental Milestones. These learning difficulties could be in Life Skills, Social Skills, Academic Skills or Behavioral Challenges. Special Needs Education teachers and other professionals at Holmeside School develop a unique IEP (Individualized Education Program) for each child as an important tool to best educate the learner and nurture any budding talents. The school educates children from from Year 1 to Year 13 and follows the British National Curriculum (BNC). The school also runs vocational programs to impact hands-on skills to the students. The vocations include: Hair & Beauty, Wood Work, Creative Arts, ICT, Music & Swimming. Vocational training also answers the critical question posed by many parents of children with learning difficulties ''What Next After School Life?'' because students will have perfected skills of a specific vocation and the same can be utilised by the learner to set up a meaningful venture later on in life.
