Holocene is India’s first industrial-scale insect-based sustainable ingredients manufacturer. Our mission is to produce circular ingredients in a climate-positive way by bringing insects back into the food chain. We leverage the capabilities of Black soldier Fly (Hermitia illucens) to upcycle low-value organic residues from the Agro-processing industries. Our insect-based ingredients (Insect Meal and Insect Oil) cater to the animal & pet feed industry and agricultural inputs. With our cutting-edge R&D, we also focus on producing ingredients for the nutraceutical and cosmetic industries.
With a core team of multi-disciplinary experts in biotechnology, entomology, agriculture and livestock farming we have the most efficient BSF breeding program with a daily BSF egg production of 45 kg. This enables us to process 450 tons of organic residues daily. Our models are unique for using very less resources such that CAPEX & OPEX are considerably low.
