Hope Pastures is a registered UK charity, which rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes horses, ponies and donkeys.
Based in Leeds, we also educate in animal welfare and provide a place where people, irrespective of background and ability, can meet the animals, volunteer, learn skills, and contribute to the community.
Hope Pastures is open free of charge every day except Monday and is easily accessible by foot or public transport. We also run educational and fun group visits, Pony Days, and volunteering sessions (including for the elderly, schools, brownies, and resourced provision groups),
We have around 30 animals at the sanctuary and are responsible for over 100 in loving foster and forever homes. We see some terrible examples of how cruel humans can be to these trusting and generous animals and are constantly amazed at how even animals which have been in the most desperate state can go on to have a happy and fulfilling life.
The sanctuary costs over £25,000 per month to run. We rely totally on public donations, grants and supporters
