Die Firma Hopmann Informatik Systeme GmbH entstand 2011 aus der Firma acom-Computer D. & M. Hopmann GbR, welche aus einer Einzelunternehmung hervorging, die Dirk Hopmann 1998 gründete und parallel zu seinem Studium betrieb. Seit 2004 führen die Brüder Dirk Hopmann (Diplom Informatiker) und Matthias Hopmann (Master of Engineering) das Unternehmen gemeinsam. Das Aufgabengebiet entwickelte sich über die Jahre der Einzelunternehmung von PC-Hardware Verkauf und Vorort-Service zu Programmierung und Gestaltung von Internetseiten. Seit 2004 wird ein selbst entwickeltes Web-Content-Management-System (CMS) eingesetzt. Im Jahr 2006 wurde die erste Version der Unternehmenssoftware "HCMS" fertiggestellt, die seitdem ständig technisch und in ihrem Funktionsumfang weiterentwickelt wird.
