About HoriZn Technologies
HoriZnTech is a metallurgical R&D startup dedicated to designing and building the next generation of plants for the recovery of zinc from Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) dust. We are about to change the industry! Our startup has successfully developed and tested the world’s first pilot plant for a practical “wet” process for on-site recovery of pure zinc from EAF dust. Past attempts by others all failed to be economically justifiable when scaled up. HoriZnTech, however, approached the processing problem from a completely different angle and came up with a low cost, unorthodox but readily scalable and proven process. Steel mill owners have shown great interest in this novel avenue for improving profitability. It has the potential to disrupt the entire EAF zinc recovery industry and initiate a shift away from large-scale centralized zinc recovery plants to more profitable, distributed on-site plants.
