Horses in Mind

Horses In Mind is a not-for-profit community-based organisation. We deliver affordable and inclusive access to horse oriented activities, in order to promote the physical, emotional and social wellbeing of young people of all ages and abilities. This includes a program of health focused (equine assisted learning) and recreational (riding and horsemanship) activities. We currently provide over 200 families relief from urban pressures, and the opportunity to get outside, get active and get involved. Aims of Horses In Mind - offer an inclusive solution to engaging with at-risk young people - create opportunities for marginalised people to get active, feel valued, and share in a real sense of community - deliver affordable access to equine assisted therapy, recreational horse riding and farm activities that promote wellbeing and improve outcomes for young people - offer supervised volunteer, return to work and peer mentoring programs for young people, to share skills and participate in meaningful activity, working on the land and with animals - operate in compliance with industry standards, with appropriately qualified staff, in an environment where clients and staff alike feel safe and cared for - promote a holistic approach to education about horsemanship.
