Created in 2022, HotSoup began as an idea to help those in need of finding soup kitchens in their local vicinity in 2-3 clicks or less to get them to their next hot, free meal. With all the changes in our economy as hard times hit many people, we realized we have to reimagine what it means to be food-insecure. We sought to utilize the fact that nearly everyone has a cell phone with access to free, mobile apps, thus turning their phone into a tool to help them get to their local soup kitchens. No one should stress about feeding their family or themselves, and soup kitchens are there for them - we want everyone, individuals and families - to find them easily.
HotSoup is designed to be accessible, free, fast, and easy, with usability in mind-first, as our design was created around our research on the best user experience we can offer.
HotSoup is dedicated to finding soup kitchens for folks across the country to help support them in a way that can reduce the stress surrounding food for those who suffer from food insecurity. We are focusing on building communities one step at a time by connecting people with the resources in their area as painlessly as possible. We hope for no person to have to suffer from hunger or starvation from a lack of information on where a soup kitchen could have been. We want to give everyone a better chance to get their bellies full!
