HOUSE research

The aging population is one of the most important global challenges that will also have an impact on the housing sector and housing policy. Research shows that older adults spend about 80% of their time at home and that 40% live in an unadapted house. In addition, the number of options for alternative housing concepts is rather limited today and does not respond to the large heterogeneous group of older adults, each with their own preferences, possibilities and limitations. That is why the HOUSE project is conducting research into new innovative housing concepts for current and future older people that positively influence subjective well-being. Within the HOUSE project we therefore do not speak of 'aging in place', but of 'aging well in the right place'.
