HouseTest has developed a novel qPCR based test, which can detect the presence of harmful microbial contaminations in indoor environments much more quickly and accuratly than conventional methods.
Growth of molds and bacteria in buildings is a widespread problem and has been correlated with health effects ranging from irritation of skin, eye, nose and throat, to headache and nausea, and also to the development of some cancers. In buildings growth of molds and bacteria most often occurs, hidden from view, which makes the detection of contamination by conventional methods unreliable and expensive, and moreover it often requires the destruction of building materials to access the contamination.
By analyzing the DNA profile of a dust sample, collected in a building, our test can detect hidden microbial growth and also access the severity, the age and the location of the contamination.
