Since 2001, Housing Plus has provided support with ambition for young people preparing to leave local authority care. It's a safe and nurturing environment that promotes empowerment, independence and choice and enhances their core living skills, ability to fulfil their potential and to realise their dreams. We offer high quality, supported accommodation in a safe, comfortable and welcoming environment; one we would be happy to live in ourselves. Every young person is given appropriate support and guidance to tap into their potential and to develop the motivation and skills they need to lead a fulfilling and rewarding life, and to be a responsible citizen contributing to and valuing society. The accommodation we provide has shared living areas to promote community. All the young people have their own furnished, lockable bedroom and some have an en-suite bathroom. Shared communal areas include a fully equipped kitchen. In most of the settings there is access to a garden. The supportive environment at Housing Plus actively facilitates each young person’s access to education or vocational training and, where appropriate, to employment opportunities. We recognise the challenges young people may encounter as they prepare to leave care and transition to independent adult life. By providing them with positive role models and dedicated, empathetic, passionate and experienced staff support, we aim to successfully equip them with the life skills they need to move forward and make positive contributions in the future.
