How Are You REALLY Feeling?

Welcome to the “how are you REALLY feeling?” podcast! During the summer of 2020, I reached out to my friends, old classmates, and teachers to check in with them and make sure they were doing okay. It was a beautiful experience for me. I want to thank everyone involved in season one for their time, vulnerability, and love. I’m so proud of the safe space we created together. Stay tuned for season one to air on all podcast streaming platforms! Moving forward with season two, it’s my prayer to celebrate #blackmentalhealth, and host conversations that help eliminate its stereotypes and stigmas. I have an immeasurable love for my community. It started with my mother singing her favorite church hymns on Sunday mornings. It lives through the dialogue I have with my father about God, ancestry, and the universe. My black sisters, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and friends are gorgeous in everything they do. We are kings and queens. We are works of art. For my life, my prayer is to help lift up black women, black men, black trans women, black trans men, non-binary black people, LGBTQ+ black people, and the entire black community. I pray to become a better person. I pray to grow and learn all I possibly can about the beauty and royalty that we’re born with, and share it with the world. I pray to help make room where we can be human and cry and pray and scream and talk and dance and sing and dream and be all that we deserve to be. Each episode will attach #BLACKLIVESMATTER petitions, charities, and various educational resources to help raise awareness and inspire honest change.
