How Dietitians Work

This is a community (howdietitianswork.com) that applies principles of organizational psychology to the field of dietetics to help dietitians better navigate the organizational systems we work in. WHAT DOES I/O PSYCH HAVE TO DO WITH DIETETICS? Dietitians do skilled work in complex settings. We are knowledge workers and subject matter experts. We often do this complicated work in complex organizational structures like healthcare systems, Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Despite this, training in organizational psychology is practically absent –in school and maybe even on the job. Applying the principles of I/O psych to dietetics, dietitians are better able to navigate the systems they work in, avoid overload and increase career satisfaction. WHAT DO WE DO HERE? -COMMUNITY: This group is designed to share information, collaborate and network with other dietitians interested in career satisfaction and organizational psychology. -PODCAST: Launching in January 2024, How Dietitians Work is a one-of-a-kind show that explores topics in organizational psychology, professional development and productivity applied to the daily work of being a dietitian. -COURSES: the signature course for HDW is called Networking for Nutrition Professionals. The course shows dietitians and other credentialed nutrition professionals how to grow their careers and businesses by leveraging the power of LinkedIn. -GUIDED JOURNAL: our guided journal called All In Good Thyme is designed to help dietitians process transitions in their careers and organize their daily work flow. ------- I'm Christianna Gozzi MA, MS, RD, LD, CDN.
