At Howrah South Point (HSP) we believe that we receive from the poor more than we can give. To become fully human and make this world more humane, we need first to take care of the poorest, the weakest, the handicapped persons. They help us to accept and heal our own brokenness.
Since its foundation in 1976, HSP has been dedicated to working for the integrated growth of the challenged children, the sick and destitute, irrespective of caste and creed. We have developed three main service lines: Rehabilitation Homes; Education, whether Specialized, Unformal or Formal; Preventive and Curative Health Programs.
We aim at the integral development of the challenged children, the destitute, and the most deprived section of the society. We work in rural and urban areas, by eliciting the cooperation and participation of the beneficiaries in their own community development in the fields of rehabilitation, health, education, rural development, and promotion of child development.
