It’s also a call to action for policy makers and research institutions to align policy and practice for a stronger innovation ecosystem. SAIL consists of a simple legal contract and associated guidance, designed to facilitate the licensing of innovations and technologies arising from publicly funded research to startups. It simplifies the terms and conditions of technology licensing agreements, aiming to reduce complexity, speed up negotiations, and ensure clarity in the transfer of intellectual property.
