There is a need for 7 million more trained health workers. 100 countries in the world have less than 35 health professionals per 10,000 citizens (WHO, 2013) 400 million lack access to essential health services worldwide Primary health care (preventative care) could reduce the global burden of disease by 70% (WHO World Health Report 2008) Designing our solutions for global health problems started with the individuals living with these challenges daily.
