HPS Engineers was founded by Hugh Smythe, a Jamaican National who has been working in Trinidad and Tobago since 2004. A practicing engineer since 1978, Hugh has worked on projects in Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering (1978) and a MSc. in Computer based Management Information Systems (2001). Hugh’s experience includes Project Management, Civil and Structural Engineering.
HPS Engineers has produced designs for roads, drainage, sewerage and water supply for subdivisions, reinforced concrete and structural steel buildings, and prepared tender documents for infrastructure and building works. We have supervised the construction of several
civil and structural engineering works on numerous small to medium sized construction projects.
We have a special interest in the utilization of information technology for Engineering and Project Management. To that end, our Principal, Hugh, has obtained training in Information Technology and has been applying these emerging technologies to the solution of engineering and project management problems.
