Founded in 1957, the Centre for the History & Philosophy of Science at the University of Leeds has an international reputation for research and study in HPS, in a QS top-100 university. We offer an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Psychology and Scientific Thought, a Masters degree in Science, History and Society (both full-time and part-time), and PhD supervision in a range of specialisms. We have a lively scholarly community of staff, postdoctoral fellows, visiting fellows and students. We have particular specialisms in the history and philosophy of biology, 19th Century British science, and the history of print communication in the sciences. But we teach and research in a much wider range of areas -- sometimes in collaboration with colleagues across the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science -- including the history and philosophy of artificial intelligence, the history of medicine and technology, general philosophy of science, and science and religion.
