The HRD Directorate at NUST is dedicated to empowering faculty and staff through strategic capacity-building initiatives that drive excellence across the university. Employee professional development starts right from Employee Orientation followed by a wide array of professional development opportunities—from concise, skill-focused short courses to comprehensive training series—we ensure our employees are equipped with the tools they need to thrive in their roles. In addition to enhancing professional competencies, we prioritize the personal well-being of our employees and their families. Recognizing the importance of work-life balance, we offer recreational programs such as cricket matches, bowling events, and various leisure activities to provide a refreshing break from daily routines and encourage a rejuvenated workforce. Our Flagship program NUST Centre for Teaching and Learning (NCTL), is designed to introduce new faculty to the university’s distinctive teaching, research and work culture. Another significant achievement is the Certified Health Professional Education (CHPE) Program, established through our partnership with the School of Health Sciences, which empowers healthcare educators with essential teaching and professional skills. Our commitment to impactful, high-quality training has extended beyond Pakistan, with our directorate proudly hosting international training programs for faculty members from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s National Defense University and Afghanistan. Each program under the HRD Directorate is crafted to inspire growth, enhance productivity, and cultivate a vibrant workplace culture at NUST.
