With their signature technique of paint-sewing, HUMAN TOUCH showcases the human labor that we all rely on to make our clothes.
With hands covered in paint during the sewing process, the fingerprints of tailors, workers, machinists become visible on the garment.
HUMAN TOUCH is a fashion brand, and also finds expression through live sewing performances, art installations, talks and presentations – centered around the unique paint-sewing technique and expanding its potential for fashion activism.
The team around creative directors and co-founders Christina Albrecht and Juliet Seger is currently developing their first main line collection and has already launched their upcycling line HUMAN TOUCH remedy.
All HUMAN TOUCH items are made-to-order in Berlin. They show a unique pattern, created by the handling during the sewing process.The textile paint is fixed permanently on the fabric to allow for regular wear and machine wash.
HUMAN TOUCH was created by Juliet Seger in 2020 and is based on a foundation of extensive research around Sewing Technology as a Social Technology. In 2023 the project transitioned into a standalone fashion brand, in collaboration with friend and business partner Christina Albrecht.
Juliet Seger is a tailor, clothing engineer, sustainability designer and artist. Christina Albrecht is a tailor, fashion designer, pattern maker and stylist.
