In India, 128.5 million children located in urban areas account for 34% of total urban population. Poor design and planning of cities and public spaces, affects the physical and mental well being daily. Children between 5-14 yr are at a heightened risk of road injuries (30 children die everyday) and have a high exposure to toxic air and noise pollution, especially when they go to school and play. Even though they account for more than 1/3rd of the population, they have no voice in the city.
