Founded in 2014, the Humans of Dublin mission is to create a community where good people get inspired by real human stories. Our goal is to make people more attentive to what is happening to other humans around them, and if possible, make a positive change in their lives.
Humans of Dublin is a collection of portraits and short quotes from strangers on the streets of Dublin. Inspired by the success of the world-famous blog, Humans of New York, Peter Varga began to walk the streets of Dublin. He interviews and photographs those he meets, uncovering powerful stories hiding in plain sight as we rush about our busy lives, too busy to notice.
What transpired was a social media phenomenon with a collection of portraits and stories that capture the vibrancy and diversity of Dublin life.
While working on this project, we published the book 'Humans of Dublin' and had the opportunity to partner with Dublin Chamber, Pieta House, Electric Ireland, Guinness Storehouse, Google, Vodafone, DublinTown, LinkedIn, Havas, Social Entrepreneurs Ireland, Weber Shandwick, Bord Bia, Simon Community, Dublin City Council, Gill Books, International Literature Festival, News Talk and many others.
