Hunter Multicultural Communities (HMC) is a not-for-profit public benevolent organization dedicated to serving established, new, and emerging multicultural communities in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Hunter, Central Coast, and Port Stephens regions. Established in 1977, HMC has grown to become the leading influence for multicultural advocacy, support, and inclusion in the Hunter Region. With a vision for a cohesive, equitable, and respectful multicultural society, HMC works tirelessly to celebrate cultural, religious, and linguistic diversity while providing essential programs and services that foster social connection, health, and well-being for individuals of all backgrounds. HMC offers a wide range of programs and initiatives designed to address the evolving needs of our community. From advocacy, community events, and youth engagement to vital services like the Commonwealth Home Support Program, meal delivery services, and NDIS partnerships, HMC plays a critical role in empowering individuals and families to thrive. Our Community Garden, Multicultural Men’s Shed, and diverse social support groups provide safe, inclusive spaces for cultural expression, connection, and growth. HMC is proud to collaborate with over 70 culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities and key partners to ensure equitable access to services and opportunities. As a trusted leader in multicultural advocacy, HMC is committed to creating stronger, healthier, and more connected communities. We actively engage in regional networks, forums, and advisory councils to represent the voices of multicultural individuals and ensure they are heard.
