His understanding of and appreciation for the region, its history, and its distinct microclimates has evolved into a keen understanding of regionally appropriate design, construction techniques, and building materials.
Hunter’s decades-long career has produced a deep understanding of land use policy, site and building design, construction technology, and regulatory approvals along with established relationships with authorities having jurisdiction from all regions of the Monterey Peninsula as well as Monterey County Resource Management Agency. His professional relationships extend throughout California having worked on projects in the Bay Area and along the south coast.

Hunter is a California licensed architect, and holds registration with the American Institute of Architects. He earned an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo and a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
