When Hurlcon began manufacturing gas pool heaters in the 1990s, they quickly became one of Australia's leading suppliers of quality swimming pool heaters and spa products. An Australian owned and run company, it seemed only logical to use this expertise developed with water heating, gas combustion and fluid hydraulics as a common denominator between the pool and spa industry and the hydronic heating industry. To this end Hurlcon acquired another iconic Australian company Hendy Manufacturing in 2001, which had its beginnings in the mid 1960’s as a leading manufacturer of Australian designed and manufactured hydronic heating equipment. In October 2006 Hurlcon was acquired by the Spanish Multinational Group Fluidra, headquartered in Sabadell (Barcelona, Spain). Fluidra currently has a presence in 38 countries by way of around 150 branches and has several production centres located throughout the world (including of course Melbourne Australia). Fluidra products are distributed to more than 170 countries due to an extensive sales network, employing 200 plus Australians to date. Hurlcon Hydronic Heating are proud to have had ThermaRad steel panel radiators since 1996, now the longest continuously available radiator on the Australian market.
