What I’m doing to this community is my way of continuing my mission in helping the less fortunate by letting them feel that there are people who believe and care for them. And eventually teach them to be independent." - Stephen Juanito For 5 years now, my team and I have been helping struggling communities here in the Philippines. The main source of donations are from my own profit / salary. What I realized is that giving the people something that can feed them for a day or even for a week, makes it a never ending cycle. Imagine being in an emergency situation like the recent pandemic - it also affects the donors. So how can the donors help the community if they need to look out for their own families first? Another example is if a fire or an earthquake destroys a part of the community, how can they get immediate help if the donors are miles away? How can they survive if what we always give are temporary solutions? The obvious answer here is to become Self-Sufficient. For the first time in 5 years, I’m asking help from the global community in regards to this campaign. So how can you make a community self-sufficient? - Provide Internet connections - Donate smart phones, tablets or laptops for online learning - Online learning modules - Basic Life Skills and Entrepreneurial Courses And on the process, we can provide continuous supplies of food / water packs and sanitary items (alcohol and face-masks) Imagine having a person or a family imprint your name in their hearts. As long as they live they will never forget you. That's what I learned when I emerged myself to these communities. Please join me in making a difference in people's lives, one community at a time.
