H2O is developing a hydration monitoring software that uses advanced neural network models to analyze biometric data from wearables in real time for individualized hydration assessment and classification. H2O’s innovation provides scientifically accurate hydration determination based on changes in intravascular volume, as reflected in individual PPG signal analysis. H2O aims to address the significant and underserved need for accurate, real-time hydration assessment. Studies show that 17-28% of older adults are dehydrated and dehydration accounts for 37% of hospital admissions among this demographic. Despite this, no reliable method in wearable devices for measuring hydration levels currently exists. Other methods to measure hydration cannot be reliably tested outside of a clinical setting and lack mobility and accuracy. H2O is motivated to solve this problem because it believes that proper hydration and hydration monitoring will improve the well-being of individuals in society. By providing people with a tool to accurately monitor this previously unmeasured but critical vital sign, H2O can empower them to take control of their health. Effective hydration on an individual level can have a net-positive impact on society as a whole.
