Hydrogeologists without Borders UK

What we do: • Provide hydrogeological assistance to humanitarian organisations. • Support the capacity building of local hydrogeologists and hydrogeological contractors. We do this through engaging them with humanitarian projects; ensuring quality of work by helping humanitarian organisations with the drafting of technical specifications, joint working and by evaluating work carried out. • Provide an emergency desk study service for humanitarian workers involved in disaster relief. • Provide a rapid hydrogeologist response unit, offering field support and equipment to assist emergency groundwater related works. • Advocate the benefits of using hydrogeologists to the humanitarian community. • Provide hydrogeological training and support knowledge transfer between hydrogeologists and those involved in water supply. Our work is supported through our international volunteer membership of over 200 hydrogeologists and groundwater experts. What we need: If you are a hydrogeological contractor or consultant working in a country where humanitarian organisations are developing groundwater resources, please send your details to HWB-UK so that we can add your company details to our register. If you are a groundwater expert who is able to donate time to support humanitarian projects then please join HWB-UK’s growing membership. We are seeking funding of £75,000 per annum for the next 5 years to cover the salaries of two staff and HWB-UK's overheads.
