Hydrometeorology and Remote Sensing Group (HMeRS) at department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay carries out research activities using Assimilation of microwave remote sensing data in the field of hydrology and meteorology.
The group activities involve various kind of remote sensing datasets such as soil moisture products (from SMAP, SMOS), precipitation (From GPM, Indian Doppler Weather Radar (DWR), L band microwave radiometers and altimeters (JASON ,SWOT), RTTOV models for land data assimilation.
We have also conducted field campaigns for soil moisture estimation using ground-based L-band radiometer.
