Unlike the traditional approach to medicine, which focuses on WHAT (diagnosis and prescriptions to address symptoms), Hyperion Functional Medicine takes a much more holistic approach. By focusing on WHY your symptoms manifest the way they do, we seek to identify the root cause behind your chronic disease so that we can craft a personalized wellness plan just for you. Hyperion Functional Medicine was founded by Jennifer Bouchard, a mother of two girls and a devoted family practice nurse practitioner certified for more than 26 years by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Her work includes combined experience over 26 years in family practice, internal medicine, urgent care, occupational medicine and toxicology and functional medicine. She has started and managed clinical operations for five clinics across the country over the last 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1985 from Valparaiso University, her Master of Nursing in the Family Practice Nurse Practitioner program through Indiana Wesleyan University in 1996 and a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University in 2005. She is an Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) certified practitioner. Jennifer gained valuable experience working in the prestigious Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine where she had an opportunity to collaborate with some of the most prominent thought leaders and practitioners in functional medicine, including Dr. Mark Hyman. Her passion is to educate patients regarding the root causes of their health issues, inspire them to make the changes needed, and then empower them with the necessary tools to be an active participant in the healing process.
