About IAESTE China Macao
The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE A.s.b.l.) is an independent non-governmental organisation (NGO), with 80+ Members and Co-operating Institutions in operational relations with UNESCO. IAESTE was founded in 1948 at Imperial College of London, UK. IAESTE deals exclusively with the exchange of students for technical experience on a reciprocal basis. The exchange is carried out through co-operating institutions or National Committees formed from representatives of industrial employers, academic institutions and student bodies. University of Macau joined IAESTE A.s.b.l. in January 2004. IAESTE China/Macao SAR is officially established in February 2004 at University of Macau to launch IAESTE activities. IAESTE China/Macao SAR is cross-departmentally administered by full-time staff of University of Macau in Global Affairs Office and Faculty of Science and Technology. Placement are mainly for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS). Aims of IAESTE - To provide students in higher education with technical experience relevant to their studies. - To offer employers well-qualified and motivated trainees. - To be a source of cultural enrichment for trainees and their host communities.
