The central religious text of Islam is the Qur'an, believed to be the word of God as revealed to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel. Hajj: The pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca that every able-bodied and financially capable Muslim is expected to undertake at least once in their lifetime. In addition to these pillars, Muslims are also guided by various teachings and practices found in the Hadith, which are collections of sayings, actions, and approvals of the Prophet Muhammad. Islam promotes the concept of tawhid, which is the belief in the oneness and unity of Allah. Muslims believe that Allah is merciful, just, and omnipotent, and that adherence to his commandments and seeking his forgiveness leads to spiritual growth and eternal salvation. Islamic law, known as Sharia, provides a framework for moral and legal guidance in Muslim-majority countries. It covers various aspects of life, including personal behavior, family matters, commerce, and criminal justice. However, interpretations of Sharia can vary among different schools of Islamic thought.
