Het Ministerie van Economische Zaken ondersteunt de Nederlandse topsectoren in hun internationale R&D en innovatie ambities door diensten vanuit het Innovatie Attaché Netwerk (voorheen TWA Netwerk of Technisch Wetenschappelijke Attachés). De Innovatie Attachés werken vanuit ambassades en consulaten ter versterking van de Nederlandse concurrentiekracht op de langere termijn. Het gaat om "economische diplomatie" in technologie en kennis, signaleren van kansen voor onderzoeks- en ontwikkelingssamenwerking (R&D) en gezamenlijk innoveren. We werken nauw samen met andere onderdelen binnen de economische functie van de posten voor cross-over dienstverlening zoals de NFIA, NBSO, economische afdelingen, Landbouwattachés en I&M Attachés.
Prioriteiten voor IA Korea liggen op smart city, energie, halfgeleiders, duurzaamheid, en Koreaanse kenniswerkers.
