About Ian Walsh Watchmaking

Ian Walsh has been a qualified watchmaker for over 30 years. He started out as a master watch and clockmaker’s apprentice at the age of 13, and from there went on to train at the iconic Manchester School of Horology where he gained his British Horological Institute qualification. Ian is a specialist in chronographs as well as being classically trained in the art of horology - enabling him to repair and restore a range of watches, be they mechanical, quartz, new, and vintage. Working his way up the ladder, Ian found himself at TAG Heuer, where he excelled for eight years. Eventually he went on to set up his own repair and service business. After TAG, Ian designed and manufactured his own brand of British watch - creating IWI Watches in 2006. IWI enjoyed much success and international acclaim, with Ian selling it in 2012. Ian now focuses on the maintenance and repair of watches, and has branched into the pre-owned watch market. Ian sells a huge range of pre-owned luxury and vintage timepieces via the sister company, Watches of Lancashire.
