Die vom gemeinnützigen Trägerverein Internationale Akademie für Photographie (IAPh e.V.) betriebene Neue Schule für Fotografie Berlin (2007–2023) hat bereits 2020 als erste Fotoschule in Deutschland einen Ausbildungsschwerpunkt zu Umweltfotografie eingeführt und seitdem nationale und internationale Projekte und Ausstellungen in Kooperation mit starken Partnern wie dem Campus Stadt Natur von Grün Berlin, der Stiftung EuroNatur und dem Umweltfotofestival “horizonte zingst” organisiert. Damit verfügt die IAPh e.V. über eine deutschlandweit einzigartige Expertise auf dem für die Transformation zentralen Feld der Umweltfotografie.
