Retail Ireland Skillnet is Ireland’s leading body for retail education and training. Since our foundation in 2000, we have delivered cost-effective, certified work based learning programmes to over 20,000 people working in retail throughout Ireland. We are passionate about creating careers in retail.
We offer a wide range of training and education programmes suitable for people working in all areas of retail, including customer-facing employees, management, and leadership. Our suite of occupational training courses is very popular as it offers employee development opportunities for customer-facing employees. The range of QQI certified courses include Customer Service, Saftey and Health at Work, Retail Selling, Personal Effectiveness, Security, Digital Marketing plus others. In addition, we offer a range of short-courses including Social Media Marketing, Managing and Mentoring, Digital Photography and Behaviour and Effectiveness. Since 2014, we have helped hundreds of Irish retail employees complete a Bachelor of Business in Retail Management Practice Degree. The degree programme is unique in that it is delivered to suit industry needs with the learner attending only 16 class based days per year. The Retail Ireland Skillnet work based learning programmes are designed to ensure that the learning acquired in the classroom, results in immediate improvements in the workplace. As a government-funded body for training and education in the retail sector, all training is 50% funded from the National Training Fund, through the Department of Education and Skills. This funding is administrated through Skillnet Ireland.
