Initiée en 1987, Mushiete & Compagnie SARL (M&CO) est une société agroforestière, propriétaire d’un patrimoine foncier nommé domaine d’Ibi. Domaine de 9.000 ha situé à 145 Km à l’est de Kinshasa le long de la route nationale n° 1 dans la commune de Maluku. 1.425 ha est une forêt installée avec un sol enrichi par la culture d’acacia, reconnu comme fertilisant naturel. M&CO se veut être un partenaire efficace de la province de Kinshasa avec son expertise de plusieurs années dans une agriculture respectueuse de l’environnement, génératrice de projets innovants créateurs de revenus et d’emplois durables et participant à la préservation de la biodiversité.
Depuis 2008, M&CO détient le premier projet de Mécanisme de Développement Propre (MDP) en République démocratique du Congo enregistré auprès de la Convention Cadre des Nations Unies sous la référence « 4176 Projet Batéké d’afforestation et de reforestation ». Ce standard international fixe un cadre contraignant qui incite M&CO à une gestion rigoureuse de son massif forestier.
