IBN arranges New York business briefings, tours, and internships for French business and trade students who wish to learn firsthand about the challenges and opportunities that come with doing business in the United States.
IBN is an outgrowth of an annual business tour program that was organized in 2000 to enable inner-city French youth to not only earn a degree, but also to have meaningful interactions with business leaders while they are learning.
Each year, participating schools bring a group of their senior-year students to New York to learn about American business practices, meet with business leaders, media people, and public officials, and enjoy some of the cultural attractions the city has to offer. When the students return to school, they write their senior paper on the visit.
IBN student groups have been hosted by Wal-Mart, AARP, TD Bank, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, United Nations, Women's Media Center, ESPN, NYER, NYCTV, NY Center for Interpersonal Development, Novotel, Whole Foods, NYC Dept. of Small Business Services, BMCC, Pace University, Turkish-American Chamber of Commerce, NASDAQ, Assembly Member Richard Gottfried, and many more companies and organizations.
