About Industrialist & Businessmen Welfare Foundation (IBWF)

The Liberation of Bangladesh in 1971 ushered in new opportunities for rebuilding the war-torn nation's economy. However, the existing infrastructure and facilities were insufficient to meet the growing demands of development. Recognizing this, both government and private sectors initiated efforts to address the challenges. During this period, the business sector faced significant ethical challenges, as corruption and a lack of integrity undermined sustainable economic growth. In response, the Muslim Businessmen Society was established in 1973 to promote values of integrity and morality among entrepreneurs and business leaders. As the organization grew and sought to serve a broader audience, including industrial entrepreneurs and business professionals, its name was changed to the Industrialist and Business Association. In 2006, to reflect its evolving mission and adapt to modern challenges, the organization underwent a final transformation, becoming the Industrialist & Businessmen Welfare Foundation. This new identity was formally ratified and registered under the Joint Stock Companies on January 19, 2006, marking a new chapter in its journey to support ethical business practices and economic development.
