The mission of ICD is to generate value and support sustainable development.
It was established as a Project to increase the level of knowledge about the geographical, cultural and scientific characteristics of the provinces and to raise awareness about general geographical awareness.
After a while, it turned into a Non-Governmental Organization that carries out professional activities called the "İller Coğrafyası Derneği – [EN: Association for the Geography of Provinces]" (ICD), operating within the framework of the "United Nations Sustainable Development Goals" and “International Standards”.
Today, ICD continues its activities with its social impact and sustainability-oriented mission and its subsidiaries. The aim of the ICD is to carry out concrete output and benefit-oriented studies that will have a social impact in all areas of life, together with the main topics such as science, culture, art, youth, economy, geography, sports and employability.
