Our name, meaning 'Number One' in Japanese, reflects our inspiration from the Japanese hospitality culture of 'omotenashi' (the art of anticipating and delicately meeting guests' needs with utmost care). We also strive for total quality through the concept of 'kaizen,' which emphasizes continuous and gradual improvement to create more value with less waste.
ICHIBAN also has historical roots, referencing Azienda Agraria Numero Uno, a property acquired by the Bicocchi family in 1851. The name originates from 'Presella N°1' of the Leopoldine reform in 1836 in Scarlino and Gavorrano.
'Maremma 1851' at Podere San Giuseppe is the first property managed by ICHIBAN, which was historically part of Azienda Agraria Numero Uno. Our mission is to bring this tradition and philosophy into our management of properties, providing an exceptional experience for every guest.
