IconChanger

IconChanger is an application designed for macOS to simplify the process of changing app icons, especially after the Big Sur update which introduced rounded icons for macOS, leaving many older software icons outdated. The app was created out of a personal need for uniformity in app icons and to reduce the hassle of manually downloading and replacing icons every time a new app was installed. IconChanger has evolved to version 1.2.5 and offers a highly refined set of features. The main feature is the one-click icon change, which lists all the app icons in the user's Launchpad upon opening. Users can search or scroll to find the app whose icon they wish to change, and with a single click, IconChanger displays related icons for selection and immediate replacement. The app also includes a powerful search engine that sources its data from macOSIcon, designed to minimize irrelevant results through a unique algorithm and an Alias system for better icon search results, especially for beta version software. Additionally, IconChanger has minor features like the ability to remove icons from the Launchpad while still retaining app functionality, useful for hiding certain components like those that come with Adobe products, although some bugs are present and are slated for future fixes.
