The Infectious Disease Alliance (IDA) is a global network dedicated to addressing the critical challenges posed by infectious diseases. Our mission is to unite civil society organizations, scientific societies, patient associations, and key stakeholders across human, animal, and environmental health sectors to drive policy change, foster advocacy, and elevate infectious diseases on the global health agenda. We believe that a collaborative, cross-sectoral approach is essential to effectively combat both emerging and long-standing infectious diseases.
Through our unique membership model, IDA brings together diverse voices from around the world to exchange knowledge, share resources, and coordinate efforts. Our work spans disease-specific areas such as Vaccine-Preventable Diseases, Antimicrobial Resistance, HIV/AIDS, Respiratory Infections, Vector-Borne Diseases, Zoonotic Diseases, and more. In addition, IDA supports cross-cutting initiatives on key issues like finance, advocacy, and research, ensuring a holistic and united front against these global health threats.
As a strategic partner to organizations like the WHO, WOAH, UNEP, UN, and national governments, IDA plays a crucial role in shaping policies that reflect the needs of communities most affected by infectious diseases. We also serve as a platform for implementing research, with a focus on innovative solutions that can be adapted and scaled globally.
IDA’s approach is built on inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. Our membership structure offers multiple levels of engagement, modeled after successful organizations like the NCD Alliance, enabling members to actively participate in committees, shape advocacy efforts, and contribute to meaningful change.
Join us at IDA to become part of a growing movement committed to safeguarding global health and combating infectious diseases through coordinated action and innovative solutions. Together, we can create a healthier, safer world.
